The Sveti Josip Home for the Elderly in Zagreb hosted the DO-ZA-TOR project's inaugural conference, aimed at improving the quality of life of older people and adults with disabilities through the development and expansion of social services in the community. The DOBRI DOM was represented by Suzana Rožić, Head of the Social Welfare Department, and Alen Župan, Principal of the institution. The project is being implemented within the framework of the call for proposals „Expanding the Network of Social Services in the Community in the City of Zagreb and Sisak-Moslavina County“. The project is being implemented by the Sveti Josip Home for the Elderly in Zagreb, and the project partner is the Association for the Most Sensitive in Training – UNUO. The DO-ZA-TOR project brings a range of services and activities that will enable users to have a better, more active and inclusive life in the community, including:

  • psychosocial assistance through sensory and emotional activities in a multi-sensory room
  • individual counseling and advisory support
  • day care service
  • transportation for performing everyday activities
  • active spending of time through various daily activities.

Special attention is focused on social inclusion, reducing social isolation and preventing institutionalization, as well as combating discrimination and ensuring equal access to quality social and health services. The project aims to improve the quality of life of beneficiaries, strengthen the emotional well-being of people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, empower families and informal caregivers, and encourage intergenerational connections and active participation of older people and people with disabilities in community life.
