Accommodation

Pursuant to Art. 38. Decisions on social welfare (Official Gazette of the City of Zagreb 22/22, 29/22, 8/23, 30/23, 39/23) the right to accommodation in a shelter or overnight accommodation have:
- homeless people referred to housing by the competent authority in accordance with the Law;
- adults who find themselves outside their place of residence or stay and are unable to take care of themselves;
- adults who do not have a residence or place of residence and are unable to take care of themselves;
- adults whose life, health or well-being are threatened due to a crisis situation.
A family with minor children whose life, health or well-being is threatened due to a crisis situation has the right to accommodation in residential premises used or owned by the City of Zagreb, except in a shelter or overnight accommodation. The aforementioned service is provided by a family with minor children if they are unable to provide accommodation on their own.
Users of the accommodation service are provided with housing and organized activities during the day, with professional and other help and support in ensuring their basic and additional life needs.
The accommodation service lasts for a maximum of six months starting from the day of use of the accommodation, and exceptionally up to a year.
