Conference entitled

On February 25th 2019, the City Office for Social Welfare and Disabled People of the City of Zagreb organized a one-day Conference entitled "Urban Poverty" at the Old City Hall.

The reason for organizing the conference was to celebrate the 15 years of the City of Zagreb institution Dobri dom, and as a part of the conference we presented a section of the work of the Institution in the period 2004-2019. A short film was also shown about the work of the Institution, which covered all the programs the Institution runs from the program of public kitchen, lunch delivery to the house, food packages and dairy donations.

Konferencija se sastojala od dva dijela. U prvom plenarnom dijelu predstavljena je inovacija Košara za hranu i sustav spašavanja hrane od bacanja te nacionalni sustav doniranja hrane. Također se progovorilo o problemu siromaštva na nacionalnoj razini te se posebno osvrnulo na prisutnost i specifičnosti dječjeg siromaštva u urbanim sredinama. U drugom dijelu Konferencije prikazani su sustavi programa velikih gradova u borbi protiv siromaštva u okviru kojeg su svoje programe predstavili Grad Zagreb, Grad Split, Grad Rijeka i Grad Osijek.

The conference consisted of two parts. The first plenary section introduces the innovation of the Food Basket and the Food Rescue System and the National Food Donation System. It was also spoken about the problem of poverty at the national level, with particular reference to the presence and specificities of child poverty in urban areas. The second part of the Conference presented the systems of programs of big cities in the fight against poverty, within which they presented their programs City of Zagreb, City of Split, City of Rijeka and City of Osijek.
