CARES - Remote Healthcare for Silver Europe

A total of eight partners from EU member states participate in the project, namely the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region from Poland as the project manager, Gérontopôle Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France; Southern Denmark Region, Denmark; The R&D Center the Municipality of Linköping, Sweden; Pademontana ULSS7 Agency, Italy, Aragón Healthcare Service, Spain; City of Zagreb - Croatia, Pomorskie Voivodeship - Poland and two associated partners Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region from France and Veneto Region, Italy.

The project is aimed at improving local and regional policies responsible for modernizing the implementation of the system using innovative solutions of tele-care and telemedicine with their changes or improvement, towards the implementation of systemic solutions based on modern telemedicine solutions available on the market.

The three thematic areas covered by the project, which include knowledge transfer, joint development of solutions and their implementation at the local level, are:

1. Increasing the availability of remote care and telemedicine services for elderly, dependent people, including those with limitations (from peripheral and hard-to-reach areas);

2. Wide use of innovative digital tools (ICT), which enable effective monitoring and medical diagnosis of the elderly;

3. Increased institutional capacity and educated medical personnel for new and improved care and medical services.

The expected results of the project include the improvement and improvement of local policies in the field of telemedicine and telecare, as well as the development of models and recommendations for the implementation of systematic telemedicine solutions in health and social systems. The project will contribute to increasing the availability and quality of health and social services for the elderly and people with reduced mobility through digital solutions. Greater use of innovative ICT tools is also expected in health monitoring and the provision of medical services at a distance. Through the project, the capacities of the institutions will be further strengthened and the knowledge and skills of the medical staff will be improved for the use of new technologies in the care of users. At the same time, the project will encourage and improve international cooperation and the exchange of good practices between partner regions and institutions involved in the implementation of the project.
