20th Gerontology party in the heart of Zagreb!

On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (October 1) at Nikola Šubić Zrinjski Square, organized by the City of Zagreb, on September 29. the traditional 20th manifestation "Gerontology Party" was held, which was attended by Deputy Mayor Luka Korlaet and his colleagues.

In order to promote sustainable active aging in communities, on December 14, 1990, the United Nations General Assembly declared October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons by UN Resolution 45/106. On the occasion of celebrating this day, numerous activities were organized to emphasize the importance of providing a living environment adapted to the needs of the elderly population, bringing social and health services closer to them, and involving them in recreational activities that improve the quality of life.

In a rich cultural-entertainment and exhibition program that took place simultaneously on the stage and at the stands, the participants showed the gathered what they were doing and what they had learned in the various activities they were participating in, starting from dance and recreational workshops to cultural and artistic societies that represent the past , the present and future of the cultural heritage of Zagreb and its surroundings.

In the preventive health part of the program, citizens were provided with free targeted examinations, such as: blood pressure and sugar measurement, venous circulation pressure measurement, oximetry, spirometry, vital functions measurement and numerous other measurements.

And this time, as in the past 20 years, DOBRI DOM was happy to assist in technical and logistical terms."
