3. KOKOSS conference was held from April 23rd to 26th in Bol, on the Island of Brač, under the theme of interdisciplinarity as a resource, specifically focusing on Community, Family, Parent, Child, and Professional Support. The conference was attended by professionals from helping professions: educational rehabilitators, psychologists, psychotherapists, social pedagogues, and social workers.
Alongside numerous rich plenary panel discussions, thematic sections, and workshops, a social worker from the “Dobri dom” Institution of the City of Zagreb presented the Institution’s latest service – the Shelter for the Homeless – through a poster presentation.
The aim of the poster presentation was to depict the life journey of the shelter’s users – from their lives before arriving at the shelter, their lives while staying there, and their future expectations after leaving the accommodation. In addition, the main goal was to showcase good practice in the interconnectedness of the entire social protection system of the City of Zagreb, beginning with the City Office for Social Protection, Health, Veterans and Persons with Disabilities, the Croatian Institute for Social Work, Homes for the Elderly, police services, the healthcare system, and other involved institutions.
The poster presentation attracted great interest from social protection professionals, particularly employees of the Croatian Institutes for Social Work.
With this presentation, the Institution aims to showcase new services to professionals within the system, connect with other institutions and organizations, and highlight the valuable activities of its staff.
